Cyta continues its efforts to support healthcare professionals as they battle coronavirus by providing crucial assistance in their telecommunications needs.
For December and January, healthcare workers will be able to use their mobile phone plans free of charge, whether through existing contracts or SoEasy pay-as-you-go plans. This initiative shows the vast respect and gratitude that Cyta has for healthcare workers and is being facilitated by a partnership with the State Health Services organisation (Okypy).
“I would like to extend my gratitude to Cyta for this charitable initiative. This move will undoubtedly contribute to the great effort the entire country is currently putting in to fight the pandemic and especially the healthcare professionals who will spend the holidays away from their families to save lives threatened by the virus,” said Okypy Chief Executive Officer Christis Loizides.
“We consider it our duty to contribute during a difficult time for our country. This is a test of our humanity, particularly during this festive period where staying in touch with our closest people is so crucial. Healthcare workers will spend a lot of time away from their families and we would like to express our admiration for the heroes of our daily lives. This initiative is just a small token of our respect and appreciation for their work,” Cyta Chief Executive Officer Andreas Neocleous said.
Cyta has been at the frontline of the fight against the coronavirus since the beginning, supporting both the state and Cypriot society. This includes Cyta’s recent announcement to help care homes and children’s social care homes by upgrading their telecommunications infrastructure, as well as upgrading telecommunications equipment at public schools to better facilitate remote learning.
