Lidl Cyprus and the Lidl Food Academy on the Go were on top form at the recent Pancyprian Exhibition of Food & Drink HORECA – Gastronomica, held at the State Exhibition over November 5-7, and visited by food professionals and epicurean members of the public, alike.
The annual exhibition, organised by the Cyprus Chefs’ Association, is the largest exhibition by catering and gastronomy professionals. This year, however, for the first time, it was also made open to the general public with a street food festival.
Lidl Academy set up its own area at the festival, showcasing its project Lidl Food Academy on the Go – a mobile version of the Academy – with chefs cooking different recipes every day and wowing the public. Each day, a different Academy chef prepared special recipes and presented them live, in the form of 45-minute lessons.
Recipes demonstrated, included:
- Pulled pork with caramelised onions
- Shrimps with Mediterranean aromas and a refreshing couscous
- Quinoa with oatmeal
- Apple crumble
- Many other tasty, quality and healthy dishes
The public enthusiastically welcomed Lidl’s initiative, eagerly attending the classes and savouring the results of the demonstrations thereafter.
LFA on the Go was also accompanied by Lidl’s Vantastic Canteen, which continuously offered drinks and delicious snacks to the public, enhancing the festival atmosphere and experience. Additionally, via an hourly competition, many lucky individuals had the chance to win baskets filled with Lidl products.
