On the occasion of World Cleanup Day, observed on September 20, 2024, CMA CGM Cyprus participated in this special global event by organising a significant beach cleanup along the coast of Limassol.

Our dedicated team members, together with CEVA Logistics and key stakeholders, joined forces to clean up six kilometers of Limassol’s beautiful beaches, showcasing the company’s collective commitment to the environment and local community. For many years, the CMA CGM Group and its staff members around the world have actively taken part in World Cleanup Day through numerous cleanup initiatives.

As a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions, committed to Acting for the Planet, CMA CGM places the preservation of the environment at the heart of its strategy. The Group acts daily to limit the carbon footprint of its activities on its path to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2050, contributes to preserving marine and terrestrial biodiversity, and promotes a circular economy. Cleanup initiatives, launched several years ago as part of a global effort, have encouraged many staff members across different countries worldwide to participate actively.

All plastics collected during the event, amounting to 25 kilos, were responsibly recycled in partnership with Green Dot Cyprus, ensuring the waste would be transformed into valuable resources. This initiative not only contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable city, but also reinforces our commitment to environmental stewardship. Through this initiative, we are making a tangible difference for our community and our planet.
