State, political and church leadership gathered on April 3, 2025 for the roadside fundraiser for the 50th Christodoula March. Their representatives went to the pavilion operating outside the Bank of Cyprus (BOC) branch on Archbishop Makarios Avenue to express their support for the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society and to offer their contribution to the fundraiser.

“Today, on the streets of Cyprus, hundreds of volunteers are accepting contributions from the public in the context of the Christodoula March roadside fundraiser,” said Alekos Stamatis, President of the Society, stressing the charity’s immense gratitude to society, which every year supports its work and mission.

“For 27 years, Bank of Cyprus has been and will continue to stand by the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, as every patient with cancer experience should have the necessary care, appropriate treatment and continuous support,” said Michalis Shiantanis, BOC Nicosia Regional Manager. “Bank of Cyprus thanks all who support in practice and from the heart, a work of giving and hope — the great work of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.”

The Christodoula March is the island’s largest cancer awareness campaign and a major financial donor to the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.

Each year, in addition to their medical treatment, thousands of patients with cancer experience benefit from the Supportive and Palliative Care services of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society. Together with the “Arodafnousa” Palliative Care Centre, the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society’s offerings include residential medical and 24-hour nursing care for patients, psychological and social support for patients and their family members, physiotherapy and lymphedema management services, aromatherapy and daily transportation of patients from their towns to the oncology centres in Nicosia and Limassol.

The Christodoula March will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 3.30pm at “Arodafnousa”, in Nicosia. For the convenience of the participants, free bus transportation will be provided from all cities. For more information, the public can call: 77771080.
