Presentation by the Senior Manager of PwC UK
The latest developments of the NIS Directive, which concerns the security of networks and information systems, were discussed and analysed at an event held by PwC Cyprus on Friday, 5 April 2019 at the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia.
The NIS Directive aims to establish legal measures, in order to ensure a common and minimum level of network and information systems security across the European Union.
Mr Tassos Prokopiou, Advisory Services Partner at PwC Cyprus, addressed the event, followed by a presentation by Mr James Hunt, Subject Matter Expert, Senior Manager at PwC UK, under the title “Are you ready for the Network and Information Systems Directive?”.
Mr Antonis Antoniades, Acting Director of the Digital Security Authority, gave a brief presentation on the latest developments with regards to the implementation of the Directive.
In a statement, Mr Prokopiou noted that “today we are in the process of transitioning to the digital era and as such, the security of networks and information systems is a key factor for the evolution of the world economy. Providing information is the first essential step, so that we can subsequently jointly develop a common strategy to address the risks and manage all the challenges.”
