Little Gems Montessori Nursery in Nicosia and Larnaca has gained accreditation under the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board (MEAB) scheme, UK.
The scheme offers support and guidance to Montessori schools worldwide in order to ensure that Montessori provision is of a high quality. The scheme, which includes a visit by MEAB assessors to the different settings, also seeks to reassure parents that the schools assessed meet the MEAB criteria for high quality Montessori provision.
Building on the success of the MEAB scheme since it began in the summer term of 2008, a total of 172 settings have been accredited and 19 reaccredited. Out of the 172 settings 14 are international schools, of which Little Gems nurseries were two. These schools represented a variety of Montessori settings, and the assessors that visited Little Gems nurseries felt that they followed the Montessori ethos and was certainly worthy of accreditation.
At the same time as Little Gems two settings were being accredited, Little Gems in Larnaca also gained Centre Approval by Montessori Centre International in support of training adults to become Montessori teachers.

Little Gems Montessori Nurseries have received their accreditation certificates and the ‘MEAB Accredited’ logo for use on their website, and were presented with a plaque to further celebrate their success at the awards ceremony held at the Institute of Education in London in December 2015.
