The emblematic steel mill is a symbol of Russia’s economic transformation, since it has played a key role in some of the most important periods of the country’s contemporary history.
Celebrating its 85th anniversary since its foundation, MMK is today Russia’s largest ferrous metal enterprise and one of the world’s leading steel producers. Chairman of the company is the well-known Russian businessman and philanthropist, Victor Rashnikov, whose investment interests span a wide range of sectors.
Russian ambassador in Cyprus, Mr. Stanislav Osadchiy, who addressed the event, referred to the excellent relations between Cyprus and Russia and praised MMK’s initiative to organise this exhibition in Cyprus as it gave Cypriots the opportunity to get to know important aspects of Russia and to come into contact with the local culture, he added.

Mr. Golubkov highlighted the importance of the CSR programmes, noting that MMK was happy to share its knowledge and experience in this field with Cypriot companies. For his part, Mr. Fokin said that Cyprus hosts Steelnet Group for more than 15 years, indicating that this is only one of many examples demonstrating the strategic cooperation between Cyprus and Russia.
It is worth mentioning that the exhibition has already toured several European locations, such as Brussels, Luxembourg, Paris and Malta with great success.
