Outstanding Achievements by the students of the American Academy of Nicosia

Once again, the American Academy Nicosia has every reason to celebrate its students’ excellent achievements.   99% of the students achieved A*- C grades in their I/GSCE exams in all subjects and at A-level students achieved a 93% overall pass.

These results come as no surprise, since the school has a long history of high achievements, due to the quality of education and inspiration offered to students enabling them in the pursuit of excellence.  More specifically, at I/GCSE all students passed the exam scoring A*-B in the following subjects: Art, Business Studies, English Literature, Physics and Spanish. Students gained A* in the following: Accounting, Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English Language, Greek, Geography, History, Information & Communication Technology, Mathematics and Religious Studies.

Equally pleasing were the results achieved by A-level students, with 93% overall success and excellence in Biology, Business Studies, English Literature, Greek, Mathematics and Spanish. Truly outstanding were the results recorded by A-level Art students with all exam participants receiving a grade within the A*- B range. The latter, reflects the importance that the school attaches to Art as it does not only constitute as a resistive force to the wider erosion of values experienced by contemporary societies, but also helps students to develop well-grounded personalities.

The school’s Principal Mr. Richard Wildsmith congratulated the students for their achievements, expressing at the same time his satisfaction for seeing students excelling from all school faculties: “We are delighted that students excelled in a wide range of academic areas. Graduating from a school with a holistic approach to education where students also become responsible and active citizens with a highly-developed sense of integrity, caring and understanding, they will certainly keep them to have a positive make a positive impact wherever they go.”

Many of the American Academy students are already enjoying the fruits of their hard work, gaining themselves a place in prestigious universities across the globe. The Director of Studies, Mrs. Eva Argyrou  adds: “These excellent results are the platform for students to continue their educational careers. These high achieving students have a wealth of talent and proven academic ability. We are very excited about the next steps for these students and supporting them as they prepare for University and future success.”
